This step stool was born from a constraint that became a source of creation. Made from offcuts of iroko reclaimed from the Minimes project, it was entirely designed and crafted in response to the available material, adapting to the shapes, dimensions, and particularities of the wood. Its form is inspired by the fumidai, a traditional Japanese step stool. It reflects a low, stable, and compact structure, with a composition of solid volumes that give the piece a presence that is both discreet and assertive. The wood has been stained using a custom blend of pigments, revealing a deep tone between brown and violet. This unique finish enhances the natural grain of the iroko while adding a contemporary dimension. Both functional and sculptural, this object can be used as a step stool, an occasional seat, or a small interior piece. Each piece is unique, shaped by its origin and by the decisions made during its making.
